Born in New York and raised in California in a family filled with artists and writers Katherine picked up a camera at a very young age beginning a lifelong love affair with film. Through her photography she actively documents the lives of the people she observes around her creating cinematic and highly narrative work.  The photographs focus on the spaces we inhabit, the relationships within, the boundaries that exist both abstractly and formally and to a larger extent the larger contours of life. Within the photographs there exists somewhat of a physical distance from the subject allowing the viewer to safely observe the scene. A subject's glance can take on some significant and the alluring view draws us in allowing us to bring our experiences to the photograph. "Se souvenir du passé, et qu'il ya un avenir"... remember the past, and that there is always the future.
